WHAT IF MY BABY IS EARLY OR LATE? NEWBORN SESSION NORTH AYRSHIRE

I know babies are unpredictable at the best of times especially when it comes to their due date!

So, I limit the number of bookings each month to accommodate early and late babies.

Newborn sessions always have priority due to the short time frame I like to photograph them within.

When booking I provisionally book you in for your due date. Then when your baby arrives you would get back in touch so we can arrange the session.

MY BABY IS ALREADY HERE, CAN I STILL BOOK?

Thinking about a Newborn Photography Session at my studio in Dalry, North Ayrshire, but your baby is already here? Don’t worry!

Covid did fling a spanner in the works and forced me to work out with this ideal time frame.

So, if your baby is already here do still contact me. The session will be slightly different though, mostly wrapped to encourage sleep, as my newborn outfits are for smaller babies. 

We will still create beautiful artwork regardless as babies are cute at any age!

HOW LONG WILL THE NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION LAST?
Working with newborn babies only days old requires a lot of patience to achieve safe poses and a relaxed environment.

Babies cannot be rushed as they are very sensitive and usually react by crying. Therefore, my newborn sessions last around 3 hours but every baby is different!

The maximum time in the studio would be 4 hours if baby is fighting sleep and unsettled.

Sessions are relaxed, and baby led, within the time frame there will be plenty stops for feeds, changes and most importantly cuddles.

WHAT IF MY BABY DOESN’T SLEEP?

If your newborn baby is having an off day or growth spell, we can re-arrange your appointment at my photography studio, Dalry North Ayshire… It does happen from time to time.

I want your photoshoot to be an enjoyable experience for all and sometimes re-scheduling your appointment for the next day or two can really make the difference. I just want to achieve the best photos possible, as they are so precious.

We are capturing moments in time, your baby’s comfort and health is most important.

The session can also be ended early if your happy with the poses, set-ups, and the preview images I show you throughout the shoot.

CAN WE HAVE A FAMILY PHOTO DURING THE SESSION?

Yes, yes, yes!! I really do encourage parents and siblings to get involved including fur-babies!

These images don’t have to be shared on social media they are personal to you, as we pause a moment in time. Remember you babies never stay small for long.

Please remember to allow additional time for family images.

If toddlers are involved, I like to try get them done at the beginning before they get bored! Well behaved pets are welcome too, this would be discussed beforehand taking into consideration baby’s safety during poses.

As part of booking your session you will receive a Preparation Guide and Questionnaire to help you decide on appropriate clothing to match your chosen background.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE PHOTOSHOOT?

I provide all props, outfits, tiebacks, bonnets and wraps for the session. I have an extensive collection which I am always adding too!

If you would like to bring your own props this is perfectly fine too. I am more than happy in incorporate your sentimental valued items.

There is a Questionnaire which will cover this aspect when we are planning the session.

CAN I PURCHASE DIGITAL IMAGES? NEWBORN SESSION NORTH AYRSHIRE

I am a firm believer that your photographs should be printed, whilst it’s important to have a digital backup too.

My all-inclusive collections include both digital and printed products.
